Hi @dome_nice,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When all the lamps on your HP Officejet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer are flashing simultaneously and a message prompts you to restart, it usually indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Power Cycle: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wait for about 30 seconds. Then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on. This process can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a reset on the printer by unplugging the power cord while the printer is still on. Wait for a minute, then plug the power cord back in. Press the power button to turn on the printer.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Remove any paper jams carefully, if found.
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and seated correctly. If any cartridge is empty or improperly installed, it can cause the printer to malfunction.
  • Update Firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
