Thank you for responding. just the ring tone that its defaulted to. We were good sending and receiving no issues. When an issue arose we were told to clear the memory. That worked for a bit but now it rings to receive a fax but nothing appears. We can fax out no problem. It is set to auto receive but the receptionist if she is standing near it sees a message that states receive fax and when she presses the button the fax comes through. Not sure what to do. Our warranty is up and we can spend $39 to get assistance. Thanks again

Check your settings to make sure fax reception has to been changed to manual.

Manual???? HP stated it needs to be on automatic That way you dont have to press the button. It is on automatic yet we can press receive fax and it will work?????
