i have a OfficeJet Pro 8025e.  I used to have a land line that I used for faxing, I recently got rid of the land line and haven't been able to get my fax working again without it.  I was able to fax with the app. before I had the landline...

HP Recommended

For sending faxes you can use HP mobile fax app you don't need a landline, but for receiving faxes landline is a must.
