Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

We have the copier/fax machine set up with an external phone land line with answering machine.  The land phone line is split between the phone/answering machine, and the copier/fax.  (as per the instructions.)  Whenever someone calls the land phone line, the fax beep goes off in the background.  The fax beep is even in the background of the messages left on the answering machine.  How do I stop this, and get the fax machine on the copier to work properly?  Thank you.
