I read @Mans post on 1/20/22  about G-4050 software and managed to follow the recommendations and download and install everything.  I, like others, am now retired and have time to scan to my heart's content!  A few years ago we scanned a few thousand photos, slides, and negatives flawlessly on this guy.   My new computer does not have the G-4050 software so I found @Mans recommendation.  However, what installed was for Photos Essential and no scanning software.  I see where others have installed the G-4050 software successfully.  I did the compatibility thing for Vista, ran as Administrator, and everything loaded OK.   What am I doing wrong???

I want my favorite scanner back!!!  I haven't found anything to top this one.  Can someone help??  I'd sooo appreciate it!!

Thank you, @Alden4.  I apologize but I was checking Trash and Spam and found your messages there.   

I have been unable to locate the serial number.  If it was on a paper tag, it has fallen off.  I also can no longer find the documentation.  I will check again tomorrow to see if I just missed it, or if I am looking in the wrong spot.  

 

Again, thank you for responding.  I hope we can get it worked out.  This scanner is old, but we really love it for the work we do.
