Hi @cruizansusan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your HP Deskjet 2752 USB printer where you need to turn off and unplug the printer every time you want to scan from the glass top. This issue can be frustrating, but there are a few steps you can take to try to resolve it:

Restart Printer: Instead of turning off and unplugging the printer, try simply restarting it. You can do this by turning off the printer, waiting for a few seconds, and then turning it back on.

Check Connections: Ensure that the USB cable connecting your printer to your computer is securely connected at both ends. A loose connection can sometimes cause issues with scanning.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website or use the HP Smart app to check for updates.

Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, other software running on your computer can interfere with the scanning process. Try closing any unnecessary programs before scanning.

Reset Printer Settings: Resetting the printer to its default settings can sometimes resolve scanning issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset it.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or the HP website.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with your printer. In that case, you may need to contact HP phone support for further assistance

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
