After updating MacBook Pro to Sequoia 15.5 the HP 7645 will not longer scan.  I've tried everything HP describes.  Please someone who has been successful share your process.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

 Reset the Printer

Sometimes a simple reset can resolve hardware glitches:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn on the printer.

Reinstall the Printer on macOS

Remove and re-add the printer to ensure macOS recognizes it correctly:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP ENVY 7645 and click Remove Printer.
  • Re-add the printer by clicking the + button and selecting it from the list.

Use HP Smart App with Diagnose & Fix

HP Smart includes a tool that can automatically detect and fix scanning issues:

  • Download or open the HP Smart app.
  • In the app, go to the Printer menu > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Scanner Functionality

To rule out hardware issues:

  • Open the scanner lid.

Sometimes HP Easy Scan works better with older models:

  • Download from the Mac App Store.
  • Open the app and try scanning.
