HP 8500 fn1 flatbed scanning
07-16-2022 10:58 AM

Hi,
I need to scan from the flatbed and then save to a network folder.
Where I set the 'flatbed' option, because all I see is the ADF.
Thanks!

I don't have an FS3 device anywhere near me so I can't confirm that. I thought that FS3 offered job build but I could be wrong.

Assuming you are using the direct scan to folder setup then there is nothing to set, you simply load the page on the glass and make sure you have nothing loaded in the ADF and the device will scan from the flatbed automatically. If you have a sticking or faulty paper presence detect sensor in the ADF then that might cause the scanner to think that there is always something loaded in the ADF.

You should be able to use the job build function to allow the addition of pages from the flatbed. On devices running Futuresmart 5 this feature is set here under Scan Mode.

Update to 3.9.9 and yes you should be using FS3 mode not FS2 for added security.

Thank you, Repairatrooper. I've updated to the latest firmware:
So to confirm with the forum, this device (HP 8500 fn1), can't go further than FS3, so there isn't a possible work around to setup a scan with both "sources": envelope from the flatbed and pages from ADF?
Really appreciate your time.
