All of a sudden, my HP Pro 9010 series printer is cancelling my scans. I am using the document feeder and all of the pages go through, but at the very end I get a message that the scan was cancelled and everything is gone. It has been working fine for years and this just started happening. I have not made any changes to the printer or software. This is very aggravating.

Hi @AnitaDoh,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that experiencing issues with your printer can be frustrating. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem with your HP Pro 9010 series printer.

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware updates installed. You can visit the official HP website, go to the support section, and search for your printer model to find and download any available firmware updates.
  • Verify Connection: Make sure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable. For network connections, ensure that the printer is connected to the network and has a stable connection.
  • Check for Software Updates: Make sure that your scanning software or application is up to date. If there are updates available, install them to ensure compatibility with your printer.
  • Check for Driver Issues: Verify that the printer drivers on your computer are up to date. You can go to the official HP website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Test with Different Software: Try using a different scanning software or application to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is related to the printer or the software you're using.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Check the printer settings to ensure that there are no unusual configurations. You can reset the printer to its default settings through the printer's control panel or the web interface.
  • Inspect for Physical Issues: Examine the document feeder for any physical obstructions or damage. Ensure that all the paper sensors are clean and functioning properly.
  • Run a Diagnostic Test: Most printers have built-in diagnostic tests that can help identify issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run a diagnostic or self-test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
