HP 9025e printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to scan to my computer using the printer touchpad. It continually tells me to download the software, which I have done several times. Scan doctor says everything is OK--I can scan using the software on computer, but I want to be able to just sit at printer and scan. It will work for one or two scans but given a  time out it loses connection. ERror message on touchpad is "software required". I have the software loaded.

@ishkabibble, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are trying to scan from the printer screen. To enable scan to computer option, a full-featured printer driver must be installed on the PC.

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Open the utility, go to Scan > Manage scan to computer > Enable

Try scanning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
