We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Use HP Smart to crop a scanned  image from HP Smart Tank 6001

Choose EDIT

Custom is circled

Keep Resolution is not set

UNABLE to adjust the frame to crop an image!

This worked fine the first time I ran this tool, but not the second time.

I discovered the other crop tools (Letter, Square, etc.) work, but not the Custom tool.

It did work the first  time through, not a later time.

By the way, this tool looks great.  I struggled with several others, finally discovered this.

I am a retired Computer Engineering professor, San Jose State, helped over 1,000 computer engineering students graduate.  HP no doubt has several.  I was also a full time HP software engineer, Cupertino, CA, about 6 years.

@wbarrett10761, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the Custom crop tool not functioning as expected within the HP app for your HP Smart Tank 6001. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the App: Sometimes, simply closing and reopening the HP app can resolve minor glitches.

Update the App: Ensure that your HP app is up to date. Check the app store on your device for any available updates to the app.

Check for Software Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check for updates from the printer's control panel or use the HP app to update the firmware.

Reestablish Connection: Disconnect and reconnect to your printer. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues that might affect app functionality.

Reinstall the App: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the HP app on your device.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
