I am new here and you're my last resort, I used to be able to scan using my HP Smart App but now I am no longer able to. I've tried everything that I know how such as uninstalling the printer all together including the printer cache and storage, unplugged, rebooted and uninstalled anything and everything that has anything to do with printing from my phone. Please help!

Are you able yo copy with the printer with no issues? That’t in order to verify the scanner hardware functionality:
Please clarify the results, as well be sure to clarify below information to get some better understanding of the problem:
What operating system is being used?
How is the printer connected to your device? Via USB or through a network connection?
What exact error or behavior occurs when you are trying to scan?
