Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

After working for years, my USB connected Deskjet 2540 is not recognized by HP Easy Scan. I open the app and it just spins. I tried removing the printer and putting it back in System Preferences. I downloaded a new version of EasyScan too. Not working.

Are you able to print from the computer?

Have you tried using the Apple Image Capture to scan?

 

Refer to the document HP Printers - How to Scan (Mac) to learn about alternate scanning methods.
