In HP Easy Scan, I used to be able to save multiple pages into one PDF doc but when I tried today, it saved as five separate PDF docs. Please help me combine them into one doc. 🙂 Thank you!

Hi @sandoval,
Thanks for confirming the details.
To save multiple scanned pages as a single PDF using HP Easy Scan with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 on macOS Ventura 13.6.7, you need to ensure that you are using the correct settings within the HP Easy Scan application. Here are the steps to achieve this:
Steps to Save Multiple Pages as One PDF in HP Easy Scan
Open HP Easy Scan:
- Launch the HP Easy Scan application on your Mac.
Select Your Scanner:
- Make sure your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is selected as the scanner.
Set Up for Multi-Page Scan:
- Click on New Scan to open the scan settings.
- Under the Presets menu, choose Document or Custom to modify the scan settings.
- Ensure the Scan Mode is set to Flatbed if you're scanning from the flatbed or Document Feeder if you're using the automatic document feeder (ADF).
Enable Combine into Single Document:
- Look for an option like Combine into Single Document or Combine into Single File in the settings.
- Make sure this option is checked or enabled.
Scan the Pages:
- Place the first page on the scanner glass or load your document into the ADF.
- Click Scan to scan the first page.
- If using the flatbed, after scanning the first page, you should see an option to add another page. Click Add Page or Next Page and place the next page on the scanner glass.
- Repeat this process until all pages are scanned.
Finish and Save:
- After scanning the last page, click on Finish or Done.
- A preview of the scanned document should appear. Ensure all pages are present.
- Click on Save or Save As.
- Choose PDF as the file format and ensure that the option to save as a single file is selected.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.

I'm running Ventura 13.6.7
I scanned 5 pages at the same time (using "next" or whatever the button command was to keep scanning), then finish or whatever at the end – it saved as 5 PDF files rather than 1. Thanks.

Hi @sandoval,
Please find the next steps below.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Software Update: Ensure that HP Easy Scan and your macOS are up to date. Check for any available updates for HP Easy Scan on the Mac App Store.
- HP Smart App: If HP Easy Scan is not functioning as expected, you can try using the HP Smart app, which also supports scanning and saving multiple pages as a single PDF.
- Alternative Scanning Software: If you continue to have issues, you can use macOS's built-in Preview application or third-party scanning software like VueScan to combine multiple pages into a single PDF.
Using Preview to Combine PDFs
If HP Easy Scan does not work as expected, you can scan each page separately and then combine them using Preview:
Scan Each Page:
- Use HP Easy Scan or any other scanning application to scan each page and save them as separate PDF files.
Combine in Preview:
- Open the first PDF file in Preview.
- Go to Edit > Insert > Page from File... and select the next PDF file to add it to the existing document.
- Repeat this step for each subsequent page.
- Once all pages are added, go to File > Export as PDF to save the combined document as a single PDF file.
These steps should help you save multiple scanned pages as a single PDF file using your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 on macOS Ventura 13.6.7.
If this does not help, I recommend you contact phone support for more options.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
