My HP Easy Scan version 1.10.0 (201013) neither version 2.0.0 (220518) can no longer connect to the scanner and scan.  This is on a Macbook Pro 14" 2021, MacOS 12.6.2.

The HP 7740 printer proposed to download and install new firmware, reboot 2x it says.  I let it do this, and since then I cannot scan using HP Easy Scan.  Printing works.  Scanning to USB stick on the printer still works.

Current firmware is EDWINXPP1N002.2336B.00, I don't know what it was previously.

I did not previously have HP Easy Start and HP Smart software - I installed this, HP Smart is version 16.12.1, HP Easy Start is version 2.14.0 (231016)

I removed and added the printer/fax/scanner.  I reset the printing system in the Mac printer configuration, and resinstalled the printer.

No luck.

I have an older Macbook Air 11" Early 2015 with  MacOS 10.15.7.  Despite having no HP printer installed in the Mac system printer settings, it sees the 7740 printer and HP Easy Scan version 1.10.0 (201013) still works.

 

How can I have HP Easy Scan work again on my Macbook Pro 14" 2021, MacOS 12.6.2 ?

Exactly The same problem, something is broken with firmware EDWINXPP1N002.2336B.00

I just installed the lastest firmware, EDWINXPP1N002.2349A.00, and this doesn't fix the issue.

HP please help resolve this issue.
