HP Envy 4500 Driver Check when running print and scan doctor

HP Recommended
HP Envy 4500

Printer will not scan or copy.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled using the disk.  Still nothing.  Ran scan doctor and it comes up with a "driver check" error.  Have not had problems before.  Not sure what to do.  Help?

Hi @Sumrblonde,

I'd like to help!

To better assist you -

1) Are you able to place a paper on the scanner and copy it?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

3)How is the printer connected to the device USB or wireless?

Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers fromsoftware and drivers page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
