Hi @tankstoper,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 5055 is not copying correctly, with the finished document being off-center by about 1/2 inch to the right, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check Paper Placement: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray. Make sure the paper guides are snug against the paper stack to prevent any misalignment during the copying process.
  • Adjust Paper Size Settings: Confirm that the paper size settings on the printer and in the copying settings match the actual size of the paper you are using. If the settings are incorrect, it can cause the printer to misalign the copied content.
  • Check Printer Alignment: Some printers have alignment settings that can be adjusted. Refer to your printer's manual to find information on how to calibrate or align the printer. This might help in correcting any misalignment issues.
  • Update Firmware/Software: Ensure that your printer's firmware and software drivers are up-to-date. HP often release updates to address known issues and improve performance.
  • Clean the Scanner Glass: Dirty or smudged scanner glass can affect the quality of copied documents. Clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure optimal scanning performance.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset the printer settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
