Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

Printing from my computer seems to work fine.  Scanning to my computer also seems to work fine.  Copying does not (though the copy preview is fine)--the device generates blank page.  Some printing from the printer (e.g., reports) also come through blank.  The software/firmware appears to be up-to-date, and I've tried rebooting (unplugging, waiting 60 seconds, etc.) several times.

Hi @SusanMeSo,

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY 7640 printing and scanning correctly but producing blank pages when copying or printing internal reports. Let’s go through a few checks.

Check Ink Levels and Cartridge Status

  • On the printer control panel, open Setup > Ink Levels.
  • Confirm both black and color cartridges show sufficient ink.
  • Replace any cartridge showing low or empty.
  • Ensure protective tape was fully removed from cartridges.
  • Close the cartridge access door securely.

Run Printhead Cleaning

  • On the control panel, open Setup > Printer Maintenance.
  • Select Clean Printhead.
  • Allow the cleaning cycle to complete.
  • Print the test page when prompted.
  • Repeat once if the page is still blank.

Check Cartridge Vent and Contacts
CAUTION: Avoid touching copper contacts directly.

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove the cartridges.
  • Inspect the vent area on top for dried ink blockage.
  • Clean copper contacts gently with a lint-free cloth if needed.
  • Reinstall cartridges firmly.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • Open Setup > Tools.
  • Select Print Quality Report.
  • Check for missing colors or blank sections.
  • If blank, replace the affected cartridge.
  • Run alignment if prompted.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn the printer on.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear.
  • Unplug from the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect and test the copy again.
