HI @Golden110,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 5665 printer is not copying correctly from the glass, resulting in pages filled with ink instead of the expected document, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Clean the Scanner Glass and Lid

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for safety.

Clean the Glass:

  • Open the scanner lid and inspect the scanner glass.
  • Clean the scanner glass thoroughly with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with glass cleaner or water.
  • Ensure there are no smudges, fingerprints, or debris on the glass that could affect the scanning process.

Clean the Lid:

  • Clean the underside of the scanner lid to remove any dust or dirt that could obstruct the scanning process.

Dry Completely:

  • After cleaning, dry the scanner glass and lid completely before closing the lid and powering on the printer.

2. Reset the Printer

  1. Perform Power Reset:
    • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while it is still turned on.Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.Plug the power cord back into the power outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.Turn the printer back on.

3. Check Copy Settings

  1. Adjust Copy Settings:
    • On the printer's control panel, ensure that the copy settings (such as paper size, type, and quality) are correctly configured for the document you are trying to copy.Use the printer's touchscreen or buttons to navigate to the copy settings and make adjustments as needed.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP Support website and enter your printer model (HP Envy 5665).Download and install any available firmware updates for your printer.Firmware updates can resolve performance issues and improve compatibility.

5. Perform a Scanner Test

  1. Run Scanner Diagnostic:
    • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool (available on the HP website) to diagnose and troubleshoot scanner issues.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a scanner test and check for any errors or issues.

7. Factory Reset

  1. Factory Reset (if necessary):
    • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your printer to restore it to its original settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
