I followed a help link to get HP Extended Scan for my HP7740 scanner.  It did exactly what I needed.  If you follow the instructions and make a shortcut to it, it works much better than HP Smartscan for multiple scans on the platten (flatbed)   I was scanning my receipts for 2023 and it really made the job super efficient.
