HP Laser 135w scanning in higher resolution than 300 dpi

HP Laser 135w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Scanning issue on HP Laser 135w

I was using this printer for a while and I was able to scan on resolution 600dpi.

Recently I changed my computer (PC with Windows 10) and now the only software that is officially available on hp support page for this product is HP Smart app which allows you to scan in resolution up to 300 dpi only.

How can I scan at full resolution available on the printer?

Which is according to specification on hp page:

  • Enhanced scanning resolution - Up to 4800 x 4800 dpi
  • Scan resolution, hardware - Up to 4800 × 4800 dpi
  • Scan resolution, optical - Up to 600 × 600 dpi

@jarekem, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

Yes, the HP Smart app has a limitation of scanning in 300dpi. To resolve this issue, install the full feature printer driver.

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Try scanning.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
