Hi @alekhandro1382,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble selecting A5 paper size on the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw when using the flatbed for copying, as the default options are limited to A4, Legal, and Letter. This issue might stem from a limitation in the printer's firmware or the settings available within the device.
Here are a few things you can try to resolve it:
Check Firmware Version and Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, manufacturers release firmware updates that expand functionality or address limitations. You can check for firmware updates on the HP support website or by using the printer's control panel:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer (if available).
- Alternatively, you can download the latest firmware from the HP Support site.
Set Paper Size in Printer Settings (via Printer Software):
- Open the HP Printer Assistant software on your computer.
- Go to Scan or Copy Settings.
- Check if there's an option to select custom paper sizes, including A5. If A5 isn’t available, you may need to set it manually or select a custom size.
Use Custom Size Paper: Some printers allow you to set a custom paper size if A5 is not directly listed. This may be a workaround for copying on A5 paper. You can try setting a custom size for copying, though it may not always work perfectly depending on the limitations of the firmware.
Print the Document on A5 via the PC and then Copy: If your printer is still not recognizing A5 on the flatbed, you can try printing your document to an A5 size from your computer and then use the copy function. This way, the printer will copy the document at the correct size.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
