HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476 PCL errors when scanning multiple pages

HP Recommended
HP Laserjet Pro MFP M476 PCL
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently user is getting errors on the last page of scanning multiple page document.  She was doing a stack of more than 20 with no issue, now she can't do more than 10.  It looks like it's working fine and then always on the last page she gets the following error:

Problem Scanning

Something's wrong with the paper. Check the paper and try again.

I've run the HPPSdr.exe,  It's 5 years old; guessing the feeder tray is just going out - but we'd love to try to fix rather than replace.  Any suggestions?
