Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

My HP Office Jet Pro 8035 has stopped using the document feeder. When I attempt to scan it defaults to glass scanner, if I select document feeder it does not attempt to use the document feeder, just uses the scan glass. Most inconvenient when you have a large batch to scan. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi @RhyS25

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 is having trouble recognizing or using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for scanning, which can be frustrating when dealing with large batches.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Clean the ADF Components

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the ADF cover and inspect the rollers and separator pad for dust or debris.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers and pad.
  • Allow the components to dry completely before closing the ADF cover.

2. Check Document Feeder Settings

  • Ensure the ADF is selected as the source in the scanning software:
    • Open the HP Smart app or your scanning software.
    • Select Document Feeder as the scan source instead of the flatbed scanner.
  • If the option is missing, try reinstalling the HP Smart app or scanning software.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This can clear temporary errors and refresh the printer’s system.

4. Update Printer Firmware

5. Test the ADF with Copying

  • Place a document in the ADF and try using the Copy function on the printer’s control panel.
  • If the ADF works for copying but not scanning, the issue may be software-related.

6. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer.
  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
  • Reconnect the printer and test the ADF functionality.

Let me know how these steps work for you or if you need additional guidance! 🌟
