I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 is not scanning. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
 

Check Connections:
 

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or network connection.
  • Confirm that the printer is powered on and not in an error state.

Restart Devices:
 

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Errors:
 

  • Look at the printer's control panel for any error messages and resolve them accordingly.

Update Drivers:
 

  • Make sure that the HP printer software and drivers are up to date. Download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Check Scanner Settings:
 

  • For Windows, ensure that the scanner is listed in “Devices and Printers.”
  • For Mac OS, check if the scanner is detected in system preferences or through the HP Utility app.

Scan Test:
 

  • Use the printer’s control panel to perform a scan test to see if the hardware is functioning properly.
