HP OfficeJet 5230 - has stopped scanning, just keeps telling me that scanner is in use.

 

Have removed, reset and re-installed numerous times and it just doesn't work.  So far I've lost two days working because I just can't get it to work.

 

Printer is fine, I don't think it's a hardware issue as it was working OK on Tuesday morning.  Third or fourth time this has happened since December and I'm rapidly losing the will!

 

Any suggestions (and please don't tell me to turn it off and on again)  currently waiting for HP Helpdesk to come back to me.

How are you trying to scan?

Which application are you using to scan?

Did you make a copy and check if that works fine?
