HP OfficeJet 7740 - Can I Easily Remove The Lid From The Scanning Bed

After many good years of service, my HP Photosmart C7250 had started having issues scanning. One of the things that I really liked about the C7250 was its ability to easily remove the lid from the scanning bed. This made it much easier to scan things thicker than a few pages, like books, large magazines, or boxes. Unless I am missing something, I do not see that the 7740 has that ability.

 

So, without major surgery on the printer, is there an easy way to remove the lid from the 7740?

The scanner lid on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format is not a customer replaceable part.

The scanner lid on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format is not a customer replaceable part.

 

Rats! While not a deal-killer, I wish that I had known this ahead of time. Unfortunately, that is one of the biggest problems with buying things online, without have the chance to have 'hands-on' exposure.

I would personally suggest you contact our HP Support for one on one interaction. 

 

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

 

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp

Step 2. Sign in / sign in as a guest

Step 3. Enter the product number or select to auto detect

Step 4. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 5. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.
