I changed my ISP (Internet Service Provider).  I was able to update my wireless printer to the new WiFi address.  Printer working fine.  However, the SCANNER function no longer works to scan from my computer.  I can SCAN from the printer to a USB and transfer to my computer, but this is a pain.  I SCAN a LOT of documents.  I need this feature back.

@Kimkim14, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Scanner Issues for HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 Series!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Changing your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and thus your WiFi network can sometimes disrupt the scanner functionality on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 series printer. Here are steps that may help resolve these issues:

Verify Network Connection

Ensure Printer is Connected to the New Network:

  • Confirm that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer. Check the WiFi settings on the printer control panel to ensure it reflects the new network name (SSID).

Check Firewall Settings:

  • Sometimes firewall settings on your computer can block the scanner connection. Make sure that any firewall or security software is configured to allow the scanner to connect to your computer.

Update Printer Software

HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart App on your computer if it's not yet installed. This app assists with managing printer settings and troubleshooting issues.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the current printer software and reinstall it using the latest version from the HP Support site. Ensuring you have the latest drivers can resolve many compatibility issues.

Scanner Preferences

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both the printer and the computer, and then restart them to refresh the connection.

Scan via HP Software:

  • Use the HP scanning software to restore scanner functionality. You can access these utilities through the HP Smart App or other HP printer software installed on your computer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
