HP OfficeJet Pro 9010/9015- Unable to Scan from Document Feeder

HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The issue was that the correct drivers/software were not loaded on computer.  After working with an HP Support person through there help chat this is the summary of the solution:

 

go to HP Support > Drivers for product with serial number: [Personal Information Removed]

may need to create a login


Download HP EasyStart and HP+
- When asked Choose the Full Software load (Not HP Smart or Basic)

During install if it asks for user password or admin user...select Cancel


After install complete...with printer on...pull power plug from wall...wait 30 seconds, plug power cord back in. (This is forced reset on the printer)

From Printer Touch-Screen:
Choose Scan > Computer...
For Scan to Computer, from document feeder...choose just the one that has just the computer name (don't choose "Scan to computer-name")
The printer should now pull from the document feeder to the scanning glass.

From computer:
Use either "HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series-HP Scan" or the Scan option in the "HP SMART" application
