Hi @HLP1234567890

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It looks like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9130b is experiencing skewed scans, where the scanned images shift to the right. This issue can be caused by misaligned paper, scanner calibration problems, or software settings.

Let's go through few troubleshooting steps to fix it.

Steps to Fix Skewed Scans on HP OfficeJet Pro 9130b

1. Check Paper Alignment

  • Ensure the paper is properly aligned in the scanner tray.
  • Adjust the paper guides so they hold the document firmly but not too tightly.

2. Clean the Scanner Glass & ADF Rollers

  • Open the scanner lid and wipe the scanner glass with a lint-free cloth.
  • If using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), clean the ADF rollers with a damp cloth.

3. Perform Scanner Calibration

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Scanner Calibration.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate the scanner.

4. Update Printer Firmware & Drivers

  • Visit HP’s official driver and firmware update page here and download the latest updates for your printer.
  • Install the update and restart the printer.

5. Adjust Scan Settings in HP Smart

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Select Scan > Advanced Settings.
  • Adjust the alignment settings and test scanning again.

I have tried all of the above mentioned methods and NONE of them work. And actually some of the options mentioned above are not even possible to execute. This is a brand new printer that I bought and set it up. Looking on the internet this seems to be a common problem with HP printers.

It’s frustrating when a brand-new printer has issues right out of the box, especially when common troubleshooting steps don’t resolve the problem.
