Product: HP OfficeJet 5740
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

If I lay the document on the scanner glass it will scan it and preview it on my computer but, if I put it in the document feeder it will feed through the printer like it is scanning it but nothing shows up on my computer to preview.  It's a blank page and no I didn't not feed it wrong.  It use to scan documents with the document feeder just fine.  It's my bosses printer and somehow he keeps loosing his scanner icon and I have to set it up again.  I just downloaded the HP Smart app on his PC.  Can you tell me why the scanner doesn't work with the document feeder and how to fix it?
