I've been using the same Officejet 4630 for the last 5+ years without any issues. This summer (after my college sent us all home for the spring due to the pandemic), I utilized my family home printer. Now, after returning to school for the fall, I am having some issues with using the scanning function, but not the printing function. I connect my printer to my computer using a USB cable rather than wirelessly. I have already run the HP Print and Scan Doctor application and it is showing that it cannot find the driver. I attempted to uninstall everything associated with the printer and reinstall all of the drivers with no success. Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed?

Use the HP Scan Extended app to scan and check if that helps.
Click here to download the app.
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

@Kumar0307, Thanks for the response!
I attempted to use the extended scanner, however, it tells me that communication to the scanner could not be established. My computer seems to recognize that the printer is connected, just not when scanning.

Check if a security software on your computer is blocking the scanner software.
You may disable the anti-virus program for a couple of minutes and check if you are able to scan.
Please right click the start button and select Run.
Type services.msc and press OK.
Locate the Shell Hardware Detection service, select it with a single left click and press the Restart button
Next locate Windows Image Aqcuisition and select it with a left click, then press the Restart button.
Now, try scanning.
Let me know how this goes.
