macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello. I'm attempting to scan using HP EasyScan from my Mac desktop. Each time I attempt to scan, it gets stuck on "Preparing to scan...". I've also attempted to use the scan button on the printer, and that is not working either. I've reset the printer and restarted my desktop but neither has helped. Printing works just fine. Any solution available? I'm currently running macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

I'd like to help!

 

To better assist -

  1. Is there antivirus software installed on your Mac?
  2. Are you able to make copies using the printer?

 

Try the below suggestions -

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware 

 

Lift the scanner lid and check if the scanner bar lights up and if it moves.
