When I place page on glass and scan, the scan is perfect. When I use the sheet feeder, I get a vertical line all the way down the page. I cleaned every surface I could find. Used utilities both on the front of the print panel and the help section in the HP software. I understand you get a vertical black line while using the feeder. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Resolve scan quality problems on HP printers

Clean the paper pick rollers, the separator pad, and the glass strip.

 

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this could be a hardware issue with the automatic document feeder. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your printer. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
