Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

After a storm, the printer stopped connecting to the computer.  The App on the computer was debunked.  I deleted and reloaded the app.  It is a newer app, which works fine from the computer side, but not from the printer touch screen.  I want to scan using the printer touch screen but it says "To scan to a computer, make sure the feature is enabled. Mac OS X: HP Scan software is required for this feature.  If installed, open HP Utility. Under scan settings, select Scan to Computer and ensure that Enable Scan to Computer is selected.

This was on the old HP utility, but not on the one I have now installed.  Help please, there are just too many steps to do it from the computer.

Follow the below instructions-

  • Open the HP Printer Assistant. From the Start menu, click All Apps, click HP, and then select the printer name
  • Go to the Scan section.
  • Select Manage Scan to Computer.
  • Click Enable.

if the software is not installed, please download the drivers from here

This is the HP Smart App on Mac.  That info doesn't seem to be available.
