Dear All,

 

I have a printer HP Photosmart 7520 for many years. I never had any issues scanning any documents to my USB.

However, I now get message  as follows:

 

'' Original feed''

''Make sure your document is placed all the way into the automatic document feeder, then retart the copy job.'

I have checked the printer inside out to see if there is any paper jammed for the last few weeks and found nothing obstructing. I have even switched off the printer a few times and press the switch button for 15 secs but still no results.

Can anybody know how to solve this please.

@MikeAPP, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to scan from the printer to the USB drive. Have you tried scanning to the computer and check if that works?

 

Try making a standalone copy from the feeder and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Try a different USB drive. Or, place the document on the flatbed glass and check if that helps.

Thank you for your kind response.

Unfortunately, it does not work.

I still can't scan to my USB.

To know how to scan to a USB device, refer to page 19 of the user guide.

 

If the issue persists, we can try to perform a factory reset on the printer which may help to resolve this issue.

Note: All the data on the printer will be deleted and it has to be re-setup.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
