Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The scanning GUI is super tiny, basically unusable. 

All other programs on computer adjust properly to my screen resolution and size appropriately. 

Changing screen resolutions, font sizes etc on the fly for this one (and only GUI) and then changing back after a scan is simply not practical.  Using the magnifier is also very problematic.

What 'hotfix'/patch is available from HP to correct for this issue?

The HP Scan preview is not very large to begin with.

If you have a very high-resolution screen, it gets worse.

 

There is no "hot fix".

 

Try / Consider

Use an alternate scan application / software that provides a larger image of your content.

 

Windows 10 provides provides several options, most of which are compatible with a large number of Inkjet printers.

Webscan – located in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) – No additional software

NOTE:  Webscan feature  is not available on Laser printers

If the printer is on the network,

If the EWS feature is available on your printer,

  • Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
  • Tab Settings > Security > Administrator Settings > make sure Webscan is checked / enabled
  • Click Apply to save any changes

  • Tab Scan > Webscan 
  • Set up Webscan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF - Scan a test document using Webscan

Paint (mspaint)

  • Find software on your computer >  Paint
  • Navigate to the folder in which you saved your image / photo file >
  • Right-Click on the filename >
  • Open with > Paint
