HP Print and Scan Doctor even made the scan with the "scan test".
How can I use directly that utility without all the HP Print and Scan Doctor protocol?

Hello @CComm,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try this Solution:

Install HP Scan Extended find here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/
Download this file: HPScanExt.msi
Close all programs

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the msi.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Dear Andreas,

thanks so much. I can now open HP Scan. You must be a magician!

Do you think your magic wand could also show me how to know if the scanned file is saved and where?
I changed the directory, could not change the file name (Scan.pdf) and cannot find a new file on my PC.

Have a nice day!

OK, a notification is showing me I can also use HP Scan and capture.
That one works perfectly

OK

Create a new folder "Scan" under your account in the Documents folder.

1. and 2. make these settings
3. click on Browse and
4. search for the folder Scan under Documents
5. save shortcut

Now all scans with this shortcut will be saved in the "Scan" folder.

Regards
Andreas
