HP Scan software

I recently purchased a new laptop, and I wanted to start scanning documents using my Officejet Pro 8740.

When setting up the printer HP Smart app was installed.

When I went to scan, the HP Smart app opened, for me to use the scan feature in the app.

This is not the same scan feature as the HP Scan software that I had on my old laptop. The software on my old laptop, let me set a destination file, default scan, and a lot of extras, that aren't on the HP Smart app for scanning.

I've tried to download the OJ8740 full webpack which includes scan drivers, but I keep running into an apparent  connectivity issue toward the end after stating the type of use and zip code for the printer, that only allows to retry or quit, and retry doesn't work.  It also provides a web address of h30495.www3.hp.com. When attempting to go directly to the address, I get an error message stating this site can't be reached.

All I want to do is use the original scan software that is far superior to what I currently see with HP Smart.

HP Smart app is NOT the same as Full Feature Software and Drivers on your old computer. There are many more software and drivers on the following link

Please try to download and install the following one first

Thanks for the help, however it did not work. I go through the motions of finding my printer, setting the usage and zip code, and when it comes to finalizing, the same thing just repeatedly happens, which is that I get an error message stating the web address you are trying to connect to is not available. I don't have any connectivity issues, I am able to print and even scan using the HP Smart or even HP Scan and Capture. It just seems that I can't configure the original software, which includes the HP Scan app.

I do have the HP printer assistant. and interestingly, under the Print, Scan, and Fax tab, the only features are for print.

The HP Scan and Capture app, which I just downloaded, I suppose comes in a close second, to the Scan app.
