Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

The HP Scan app for M479fdw printer and the HP Smart Scan app produce scan results as shown below (colors gone wild). We tried scanning via the bed and feeder. We also initiated the scan from desktop app and the on-board screen from the printer. The results were the same. We checked for missing drivers and also re-installed the Full-Solution software to see if the issue would be resolved. The printer was installed via USB and ethernet options, same results as shown below. Does this mean the scanner itself is broken?

 

Confirming that the firmware version is CLRWTRXXXN002.2428A.00 and is up-to-date.

What if you try to make a copy? If that is corrupted as well then you may have a hardware issue.  If copies look normal then I suggest you perform a factory reset on the device. Yes you will lose any settings but it may resolve the issue.
