HP Smart Scan takes close to twice as long to scan a photo as the Apple MacOS Scan app.

HP Smart Scan does not accurately identify the photo in the box ever where as the Apple MacOS Scan app boxes the photo correctly 9 times out of 10.

HP Smart Scan does not remember the File Type I like to save to and should add this option to the Setup Options.

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-In-One Printer software/firmware update prevents me from using the Apple MacOS Scan app any more.  I would not mind this if the HP Smart San performed as fast as the Apple MacOS Scan, and if it boxed the photos I scan correctly 9 times out of 10 and if it remembered the default file type I like to save to on my desktop.  HP should fix their update on my printer scanner so that I will have the freedom to choose which app to use to scan.  See the screen shots below to see the HP Smart bugs and lack of setup options for file type and the scanner error that HP caused on my Apple MacOS Scan app after their recent update of my HP printer scanner with their software or firmware update.
