When scanning Multiple pages of text the second page shows as a Magnified image (text), yet if I use the native Apple Software to scan, the document scans normally.

Hi @DenT2

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it feels when the first page scans perfectly but the second page suddenly appears magnified, especially when you expect a smooth multi‑page workflow. You’ve already confirmed that scanning through Apple’s native software works fine, which tells us the hardware is functioning correctly.

The difference lies in how the HP App is handling multi‑page scans on macOS.

Steps to resolve the magnified second page issue

Check scan source settings in the HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Mac.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 7605.
  • Go to Scan Settings.
  • Ensure the source is set to Flatbed or Document Feeder consistently for all pages.
  • If switching between sources, the second page may appear zoomed.

Verify page size and resolution

  • In the HP App, confirm that the paper size is set to A4 or Letter (depending on your document).
  • Make sure the resolution (DPI) is consistent across all pages.
  • A mismatch in DPI can cause magnification.

Use PDF output for multi‑page scans

  • In the HP App, select Save as PDF instead of individual JPEGs.
  • This ensures all pages are scaled uniformly.

Update printer firmware and HP App

Test with a short multi‑page scan

  • Place two text pages in the feeder or scan them one after another from the flatbed.
  • Save as PDF and check if both pages appear correctly.

Why this helps

  • The magnification usually comes from inconsistent scan source or resolution settings.
  • Saving as PDF ensures uniform scaling across pages.
  • Firmware and app updates often improve multi‑page handling on macOS.

Once these adjustments are made, scanning should feel seamless again—each page crisp and properly aligned. Would you like me to also share steps for adjusting default scan profiles in the HP App, so you don’t have to reset these options every time you scan?
