My HP Smart Tank 7302 will not copy. I have tried the feeder and the flatscreen. The 2 copy lights do not light up.

Hi @lincoker,

If your HP Smart Tank 7302 printer is not copying and the copy lights are not illuminating, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

 

  1. Check Power and Connections

    • Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to a power source.
    • Verify that all cables are securely connected.
  2. Restart the Printer

    • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  3. Check for Error Messages

    • Look for any error codes on the printer display or through the HP Smart app. Error codes will often guide you to the specific issue.
  4. Load Paper Properly

    • Ensure that there is paper loaded in the input tray, and it is properly aligned.
  5. Check Ink Levels

    • Make sure the ink tanks are not low or empty. Refill them if necessary.
  6. Inspect the Scanner Glass and Feeder

    • Make sure the scanner glass is clean and free of any dust or smudges.
    • Ensure there are no paper jams in the document feeder.
  7. Attempt a Soft Reset

    • On the printer control panel, press and hold the power button for approx. 5 seconds to perform a soft reset.
    • Release the power button, and the printer should reset itself.
  8. Control Panel Check

    • Press the Information button on the control panel to print an information page. If this page prints, the printer's basic functions are working.
