I will try to control my rage. I've been using HP Smart for several years. I use it to scan stuff. I scan stuff several times per week. All of a sudden it is asking me to create an account. It also  wants to set up a new printer. Why on earth would I need to set up a new printer? Why is it trying to force me to setup a new "account"?. This used to just work. The HP Smart (apparent} update is a buggy. I just want it to work like it did up until just a few minutes ago. Why do I have to go through this ?

Now it wants me to create a cloud account.

I do not want a cloud account.

I do not want to send my scans to HP cloud so that you can get all my personal data.

That is not an acceptable solution.

I want to scan directly to my computer as i was able to do before.

I do not like HP's HYPER-INTRUSIVE IN YOUR FACE attitude and practices,

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App and see if that helps.
