Hi @OpenDiapason,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If HP Smart is closing prematurely when you try to scan a document on Windows 11 without displaying any error messages, there are several potential reasons and solutions you can try:

Update HP Smart:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of HP Smart installed. Check for updates in the Microsoft Store or download the latest version from the official HP website.

Restart Your Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Close all applications, restart your computer, and then try scanning again.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

Reinstall HP Smart:

  • Uninstall HP Smart from your computer and then reinstall it. This can help to resolve any potential software glitches.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP Print and Scan Doctor. Download and run this tool to troubleshoot and fix scanning issues. It can identify and resolve common problems with HP printers and scanners.

Check Scanner Connection:

  • Ensure that your scanner is properly connected to your computer. If it's a wireless scanner, check the Wi-Fi connection. If it's a USB-connected scanner, make sure the USB cable is securely plugged in.

Disable Security Software:

  • Temporarily disable any security software, such as antivirus or firewall, and see if the issue persists. Sometimes, security software can interfere with scanning processes.

Check for Conflicts with Other Software:

  • Other installed software may conflict with HP Smart. Try closing unnecessary applications running in the background and see if the issue persists.

Check Event Viewer for Errors:

  • Use the Event Viewer to check for any error messages related to HP Smart. Look for entries under "Windows Logs" > "Application" for any error details.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the issue with HP Smart closing prematurely during scanning on Windows 11.

Update the firmware by using your printer serial number. Click here

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, I recommend contacting phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
