HP Smart scanning issues

My HP Laptop will print and scan to my HP printer. However My Samsung A7 tablet allows me to print documents ok BUT if I use Printer Scan the tablet tells me it cannot connect to printer. 

What am I doing wrong on the tablet?

Are you getting any error messages?

Not sure I can give any more info. The short answer is the A7 connects to the HP Printer and prints pages but if I use "Printer Scan" on HP Smart the error says "Cannot connect to printer"

Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app to fix the issue

I re-installed HP Smart & followed the steps. It has made no differenceI.

I can print from my tablet but try to use printer scan and I get the message that cannot connect to printer try again.

I'm no further forward.

What i do at the moment is scan to my laptop then copy the files to the tablet. It's a bit long winded but at least it works
