HP Smart software should have two Scan Presets; Document and Photo.

Where in the HP Smart-app can I see and adapt those preset Scanner settings?

I can't find the the preset scanner screen...

Thanks for your quick response!! Realy appreciated!!

Is there a way to have preset for saving file type linked to doc or photo.

So when you scan a doc and do final scan, automatically .PDF is linked as type for saving the doc. scan

When you make a scan with preset Photo, it is automatically linked to .JPG as file type for saving.

I would expect that when you select document the resolution is auto filled in according a preset like 300dpi somewhere defined.

When you choose Photo, the resolution is automatic filled in according preset with resolution 6OOdpi and saving file type auto set to .JPG.

Is that possible..?

You are welcome.

Possible?  Maybe.  To now, I've not found a way to save Scan Presets the way I want them done in HP Smart.

Could be "just me" that cannot find it  - I use the application constantly but my skill level is still only moderate.  Smiling.

Shortcuts (formally Smart Tasks) lets you predefine a few setups - it's pretty limited - and may not be useful for what you describe (Scan presets).  Might be something there you can tag into during the "save" part of the scan... Doesn't do anything for the DPI, though, so all seems a dead end...

More Blather - and discussion on HP Scan...

HP Smart is convenient but still fairly limited in some areas.

HP Smart for Printing is a bit more flexible - plus it supports using More Settings > Shortcuts as defined in the driver.

If you want more advanced " Preset " control, use HP Scan (part of the Full Feature Software).

You can define and save Custom Shortcuts, for example.

The Settings are still restricted to what the printer hardware supports.  That said, if the printer can do it, HP Scan can likely "see it" and set it.

Unfortunately, HP Scan lacks the pretty format used in the HP Smart interface.

At this writing, HP Scan does not have the nicer Mail / Share setup (at least not in the same way as offered in HP Smart).

Finally, there is HP Twain - if you don't need it / use it / recognize it, HP Twain is likely not something you care about.

HP Twain, for example, can be used with Irfanview (image print and scan software).
