Hi, I have an issue with the HP Smart mobile app. It does everything apart from scanning, wirelessly. It did work previously but since the update it no longer works. I am using Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with Android 12. Can anyone enlighten me on a fix or know issue?

I understand you are not able to scan using the HP Smart app. To assist you better, do you get any errors?

Have you tried reinstalling the app?

 

As a workaround, for the time being, Use the Mopria Scan app to scan documents or photos from your HP printer to your Android device.

Check the requirements to scan with the Mopria Scan app.

  • The printer is connected to your network or a Wi-Fi Direct connection.
  • For a Wi-Fi connection, the printer and Android device are within 6 feet of the access point (router).
  • For a network connection, your device is connected to the same network as your printer.

Go to Google Play - Mopria Scan to install the app. If prompted to allow the app to access photos, media, and files on your device, select Allow.

  1. In the Mopria Scan app, tap your scanner under Discovered scanner.
  2. Place the original on the printer scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (ADF).
  3. Change any desired scan settings, and then tap Scan.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete scanning the document.

The other app suggested is a workaround until the issue with the HP Smart app is resolved.

 

If you have tried reinstalling the HP Smart app and the issue persists, I've sent you a private message with further instructions to resolve this issue.
