Using HP Smart Tank 7005 to scan documents with HP "easy scan"

Documents can be scanned and edited.

When trying to save a scanned document with "Long Term Preservation (PDF/A)" selected, the app crashes.

 

If I deselect"Long Term Preservation (PDF/A)", everything is working okay?

If HP Easy Scan crashes when trying to save files using the "Long Term Preservation (PDF/A)" option, it may be due to a compatibility issue or a bug within the application. 

 

Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

 

Update HP Easy Scan:

  • Check for any updates for HP Easy Scan. You may find updates via the Mac App Store or HP's official support page. Keeping the software up-to-date can resolve compatibility issues and bugs.

 

Reinstall HP Easy Scan:

  • Sometimes reinstalling the application can resolve persistent issues.
  • Delete HP Easy Scan, then download and install the latest version from the Mac App Store or HP’s support website.

 

Check macOS Updates:

  • Ensure your macOS Sequoia is updated to the latest version, as updates can sometimes fix software compatibility issues.

 

Use Alternative PDF Format:

  • Since deselecting "Long Term Preservation (PDF/A)" works fine, continue using standard PDF format if urgent workarounds are needed temporarily.

 

Try Different Save Location or Name:

  • Attempt saving the file to a different location on your computer or utilize a different file name. Sometimes specific directory permissions or reserved file names can cause issues.

 

Check Permissions:

  • Ensure that HP Easy Scan has the necessary permissions to access directories and save files.
  • Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy and check permissions for HP Easy Scan under 'Files and Folders'.

Hi i have resorted to saving as standard PDF as the"Long Term Preservation (PDF/A)" wont work
