My brother-in-law has an HP LaserJet pro MFP 127....

Some days ago, his Notebook updated from Win 10 to Win 11....

There were no problems with the Printer functions, but weird things happened with the Scanning Functions: scanned two pages and then the error message "Can't comunicate with the Printer...." showed up.  (USB connection)

I can see in https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4839960-4840167-16 that the printer is not listed as compatible with win11...

So, I did the following:

1) uninstalled Printer' software and drivers (not sure if they were updated) / reboot

2) Updated Win 11  /reboot

3) Updated all drivers with IObit Driver Booster (there were a lot!)   /reboot

4) downloaded and installed Printer' software and drivers from the web site, last version (win 10)

5) downloaded and installed last printer's firmware (needed)

6) downloaded and installed HP printer and Scan Doctor 5.6.3...  
Running it, all checks were OK (green), but the last one (scan test)
This opens the Scan Software, and this happens: click to scan, scan seems to respond, but nothing is scanned (and yes, something was in the scan bed).. Save Button grayed out.-

Then.... I have these questions:

  1. a) Is there another scan software that can be useful for this Printer (from HP or another)?
  2. b) another workaround to try.-?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

After reading your post I did go through the driver page: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m127-series/5396666 and found out drivers are not available for windows 11 OS. 

However, you can try with the Windows Built-in Print DriverClick here
